The project consisted of highway improvements on SR-110 in downtown Los Angeles, including widening three bridges on the northbound lanes; widening SR-110 to the I-10 West connector; constructing retaining walls, sound walls and barriers; and removing and replacing the 9th Street off-ramp bridge. The project started in July 2010 and was completed in May 2012. This project helps traffic in and around the Staples Center and the Convention Center by relieving traffic congestion at the southbound 110 and westbound / eastbound 10 connections. It also eases traffic congestion into downtown Los Angeles off of the northbound 110.
