I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening

This $1.034 billion dollar project was constructed under a design / build contract with materials oversight by the Caltrans Office of Structural Materials. The four-year project involved:

  • Constructing 10 miles of HOV lanes
  • Realigning existing on- and off-ramps
  • Removing and replacing three bridge structures
  • Widening 23 additional bridges and ramps
  • Constructing 18 miles of retaining and sound walls
  • Widening freeways
  • Performing road improvements on adjacent city streets
