This project consisted of a grade separation at Grove Avenue to eliminate conflicts between vehicular traffic and Union Pacific freight trains accessing Ontario Airport and surrounding distribution centers. The Grove Avenue profile grade was realigned so that the tracks bridged over the street. The new structure consisted of a four-span, precast, prestressed box girder railroad bridge, approximately 179 feet long and 39 feet wide. The Grove Avenue project was funded with state and federal funds and required City of Ontario and Caltrans approval.
CALTROP provided construction management, inspection, testing, surveying, scheduling, public relations, utility relocation and railroad coordination.
