The $167 million Alaska Airlines Project was recently completed by Hensel-Phelps Construction Co. in 2012. The project was a design-build procurement; with Hensel-Phelps as the design-build contractor. The project scope included relocation of various other airlines from and within Terminal 6, relocation of Alaska Airlines from Terminal 3 to Terminal 6, a common use terminal equipment system at Alaska Airlines’ gates, ticket counters, TSA security checkpoint reconfigurations, new in-line baggage handling system (BHS), various improvements for the boarding gates, hold room, concourse, boardroom, apron and ramp / support spaces, arrivals level tunnel, and the arrivals level federal inspection station and domestic baggage claim areas.
