CALTROP Communications was selected to provide construction management and public outreach services to the City of Agoura Hills for the Agoura Road Widening project. This project provided compatibility between existing roadway improvements and planned future development in the area; provided continuity along Kanan Road between roadway segments north and south of Agoura Road; and increased accessibility and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists who use the corridor regularly.
CALTROP Communications developed a project identity, including creating a logo to brand the project within the community. The location of the project presented particularly unique challenges for the residents, businesses / customers and bicyclists / joggers who used the road for access in and around their community. The project team promoted safety in key messaging related to the project to help the public detour safely around the construction area. In addition to developing project branding, CALTROP provided collateral development services; developed weekly City e-mail alerts to the public; coordinated community outreach meetings; conducted door-to-door business visits and lunchtime presentations to major employers in the area, as well as targeted outreach to specific communities that were not included in typical outreach methods, such as the cycling clubs and jogging groups.
